Our Toda T-shirt is crafted from a blend of organic cotton and modal in our partner workshop in China, with whom we have been working for 10 years. Together, we pursue ambitious goals for the eco-responsibility of our products.
Modal® (similar to Tencel® and Lyocell®) is an eco-friendly fibre made from wood pulp (beech), which has a low environmental impact because it is produced in a closed-loop system where materials are constantly recycled, purified, and reused. This man-made, eco-friendly fibre is a more environmentally conscious alternative to viscose.
We use organic cotton because its cultivation is more eco-friendly and ethical. From the sowing of the seed to the harvesting of the flower, organic cotton is grown without pesticides, insecticides, or chemical fertilisers, and without GMOs. Its cultivation consumes less water than conventional cotton.
